The police officer (wearing white coat) is my father who was a breeder, trainer and handler at that establishment and where I grew up as a child. He is police constable Joseph William Metcalfe and joined the Met prior to WWII. During WWII he was RAF pilot and served in Burma. He returned to the Met and served in London and Cyprus. After the dog training school he went to Malawi, C.Africa to train dogs and handlers. He died in 1981.
