    Scenes at Waterloo station, London and Portsmouth docks, Hampshire when the Royal family left for South Africa.

    LS Elevated views of King George VI, Queen Elizabeth (later Queen Mother) and Princesses Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth II) and Margaret shaking hands with friends and relatives. CU the Royal standard fixed on the front of the engine, with smoke swirling round it. LS Elevated view of the crowd waving as the train moved out of the platform and steams out of the station. The Royal party can be glimpsed through the window of a Pullman coach.
