Mr. P.H. Spaak arrived in Luxembourg for his first official visit to the Grand Duchy?
Mr. P.H. Spaak arrived in Luxembourg for his first official visit to the Grand Duchy of Kuxelburg since his nomination as General Secretary of the OTAN.
Mr. Spaak arrived Friday morning by special train at the station of Luxembourg where he is greeted by Mr. Pierre Werner, minister of the Armed Forces.
Then Mr. Spaak went to the Great Duchy Palace where he was received by the Great Duchess and Prince Felix.
Introduced by Mr. Joseph Bech, leader of the Government, Mr. Spaak held a public conference in the City Theatre.
During this conference, Mr. Spaak asked the Allies to consult each other more frequently in the future than it has been the case in the past. It is Mr. Spaak's opinion that such consultations might have stopped the to-day's anger of the French against Great Britain and the USA concerning delivery of arms to Tunisia.
Furthermore, the eminent Belgian States Man rejected all eventual reduction of military efforts of the countries of the OTAN, and most of all of the countries, members of the European Pact.
