  • Description

Visnews filmed Feb 2 the Foreign Ministry reception at the Palais des Academies, Brussels, in honour of Belgian Dominican priest, Father Georges Pire, last year's Nobel Peace Prize winner for his work rehabilitating European refugees.

Crown Prince Albert, younger brother of the King, greeting Father Pire, paid tribute to his initiative in helping refugees.

Father Pire in reply spoke of the support granted him in the ten years of his work. He recalled Anne Frank, the 14 year-old Jewish girl of the Diary fame who died at Belsen, whose name is to be the name of the sixth European village for refugees.

At the Nobel Prize ceremony in Oslo Dec 10, Father Pire allocated the GBP14,800 prize money to his European villages.
