    Canadian and Japanese government ministers are meeting in Ottawa to review trade and foreign relations between the two countries.

    The Canadian Minister for external Affairs, Paul Martin welcomed the five Japanese delegates.He stressed that the Canada-Japan Ministerial Committee is NOT a negotiating body, but he predicted that the mutual exchange would be of great benefit to the two countries.

    For the Japanese delegation, Agriculture Minister, Minenori Akagi said the need for mutual co-operation between the nations of the Free-World has become "increasingly urgent".But, he added, governments, cannot expect to reach easy solutions in the face of growing complexity in the fields of economy and politics.

    Both Mr.Martin and Mr.Akagi were interviewed.In the case of Mr.Akagi, the interview is conducted through an interpreter.
