    THE PRESIDENT OF INDIA, DR. RADHAKRISHNAN, FLEW FROM BELGRADE TO PRAGUE YESTERDAY (MONDAY) AS YUGOSLAVIA'S PRESIDENT TITO ANNOUNCED STRONG BACKING FOR INDIA OVER KASHMIR AND IN HER CURRENT TROUBLES WITH THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA.

    THE INDIAN PRESIDENT'S 24-HOUR VISIT TO YUGOSLAVIA ENDED WITH DISCUSSIONS ON BRIONI ISLAND WITH PRESIDENT TITO, WHO'S CONVALESCING AFTER AN INFLUENZA ATTACK.

    THE YUGOSLAVIAN LEADER WENT FURTHER THAN ANY COMMUNIST LEADER IN LENDING SUPPORT TO INDIA IN HER DISPUTES WITH CHINA AND PAKISTAN.

    IN A STATEMENT ISSUED AFTER THE TALKS, PRESIDENT TITO EXPRESSED SYMPATHY WITH INDIA'S ENDEAVOURS TO FIND A PEACEFUL SETTLEMENT OVER KASHMIR. HE ENDORSED THE INDIAN VIEW THAT THE KASHMIR ISSUE IS AN INTERNAL MATTER AND THE INDO-PAKISTAN CONFLICT A RESULT OF OUTSIDE ATTEMPTS TO IMPOSE AND ENFORCE SOLUTIONS.

    AT AN OFFICIAL RECEPTION EARLIER, PRESIDENT TITO EXPRESSED GRAVE CONCERN OVER PEKING'S THREATS AND SHOW OF FORCE ON THE INDIAN BORDER.

    IN PRAGUE, PRESIDENT RADHAKRISHNAN WAS WELCOMED BY CZECHOSLOVAKIA'S PRESIDENT NOVOTNY, WHO STRESSED THAT THE PRESENT GOOD CO-OPERATION BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES HAD TO BE DEVELOPED.

    AT THE SAME TIME, HE SAID, IT WAS IMPERATIVE TO STRENGTHEN WORLD PEACE.

    THOUSANDS GATHERED AT THE AIRPORT AND IN THE STREETS TO WELCOME THE INDIAN PRESIDENT, WHO LAST VISITED PRAGUE NINE YEARS AGO.
