The Israeli representative to the United Nations, Yosef Tekoah, and the Egyptian representative, Dr. Mohammed?
The Israeli representative to the United Nations, Yosef Tekoah, and the Egyptian representative, Dr. Mohammed H. el-Zayyat, made statements at Kennedy International Airport in New York as they arrived for a resumption of the Middle East peace talks, Mr. Tekoah said Israel would explore every possibility and do all in its power to achieved peace. Zayyat said his country wants a just peace.
Dr. Gunnar V. Jarring of Sweden is conducting the indirect talks at the United Nations. He is expected to hold separate meetings with Mr. Tekoah and Mr. Zayyat in his office on the 38th floor of the United Nations building. Mr. Jarring will also meet with the Jordanian U.N. representative, Muhammed H. el-Farra.
The peace talks began last August 25 when Dr. Jarring conferred with the three representatives. Mr. Tekoah was then recalled to Jerusalem and on Sept. 6 Israel announced her withdrawal from the talks, charging that Egypt had violated the cease-fire agreement under which they began.
