Footage of tangled wreck of Zeppelin after crash.

  • Description

    Zeppelin Wreck.

    Location of events unknown.

Great film of Zeppelin wreck. CU wreckage - a maze of crossing metal. Next an amazing shot that looks like some modern art sculpture - poles sticking way up in the air; and what looks like a giant stretched out spring. Man starts climbing up inside of this coil thing. Looks surreal.

GV tail of Zeppelin; still retaining its shape; w/o its covering - like a metal frame egg sticking out of the ground at an angle. CU pan on the mess; all twisted metal; at left a man looking through it. One more shot of a piece of the blimp one still w/ covering.

World war one; disasters; aviation; airship.

This could be one of the Zeppelins shot down in 1916 over Eastern England. The man is in the uniform of the Royal Naval Air Service, which flew to intercept raids on London on 23/24 September. The soldiers guarding the wreck also have British Army uniform.
