    World War One: sports at the military hospital. Wounded soldiers recuperating in hospital are given cigarettes. Soldier in foreground staring ahead - he is either shell-shocked or he is fascinated by the camera. A woman gives him a cigarette and he shows interest in it, another soldier and some relatives are also in shot. C/U of the cigarette lady lighting a cigarette for a soldier whose arm is in a large bandage.

    Shot of line of soldiers playing lawn bowls. Great shot: pan down long line of soldiers (some in kilts, some with canes or casts and slings) and nurses all bowling. C/U 5 nurses crouching down & bowling at once, then stand up laughing. Everyone in high spirits, good fun atmosphere.
