    Rangoon, Burma.

    Burma celebrates her independence. Several shots of a car taking Governor, Sir Gilbert Rance, to cruiser "Birmingham" in which he will travel from Rangoon back to Britain. Governor waves from the ship and people wave from the quayside. The "Birmingham" moves off from Rangoon harbour.
