  • Short Summary

Good footage of women doing farm work during the First World War.

  • Description

Women's Land Army Cadet Corps at work. Location of events unknown.

This is the teenage girl version of the women doing farm work during World War One. Girls in a row; digging something; stepping on the shovels vigorously. Then a shot of them scattered in a field; spreading compost or manure on soil with pitchforks; someone leads a horse in BG. Inspection of the cadets by two older women -- the girls stand there in a line; grinning. Next; a girl grooms a tiny long-haired and very strange looking pony; the others watch. Then CU an elderly man talks to some of the cadets; shakes hands. Agriculture; war work; youth organisations; home front
