A feature film about the voyage of a Windjammer with excellent documentary shots of the ship travelling the Oceans in all weathers.
Deck shot with some wind in the sails. Topside and two men are lowering a sail. Sails are carried along the deck. A man swings from a rope and falls into the sea, he swims to a rope ladder and climbs out.
Below decks the men are fooling around and preparing for a swim. On deck the sails are stowed away as the swimming group leap into the water. More sails are being raised. Diary entry reads, "100th day. Still DOLDRUMS food is running very short. If only the wind would come." Below decks they play their instruments and sing.
Slowly the wind fills the sails. A cockerel watches the activities. Excellent shots of men going topside to adjust the sails. Soon all the sails are full as the sailors climb in the rigging and hang from the yard arm high above the sea. They race up and down rope ladders to take advantage of the wind. The Windjammer heads towards camera in full sail. The clouds gather. From the deck the sea looks rougher. The men adjust the sails.
Below decks the men discuss some frayed rope.
