    I\'ve done some research into the loss of HMS Otranto, a luxury liner that was converted into an armed merchant cruiser for World War One. It was sunk off the island of Islay on the west coast of Scotland on October 6th 1918, with about 1000 soldiers aboard as well as the crew. About 600 men were taken off by a British destroyer, and they were landed at Belfast and subsequently transported to England.
    But all the soldiers on board were Americans, not Canadians.
    I\'ve never heard of another \'Otranto\' in a WW1 context.
    Can anyone explain?
