    Rod Laver and Karen Susman win final matches at Wimbledon.

    London.

    The two Australian players in the Men's Finals tennis match, Rod Laver (right) and Mulligan, walk onto the court. Photographers clamour for pictures. The men bow to Queen Elizabeth II, seen in L/S in the royal box with Princess Margaret and Princess Marina.

    Several shots of the match with cutaways to the crowd watching the action and applauding. Laver wins the match. Queen Elizabeth presents the trophy to Laver while spectators applaud.

    The next day we see players in the Women's Final, Karen Susman (USA) and Vera Sukova (Czechoslovakia) walking onto the court. They pose with bouquets of flowers for the press. Several shots of their match. 19-year-old Susman wins and is presented with the trophy plate by Princess Marina.

    The men's final was played on 6 July 1962.

    "Mulligan" is Marty Mulligan.

    The women's final was played on 7 July 1962.

    (Note that in these days the men's final was played before the women's).

    (We can also see in this clip that in those days there were no seats for the players to sit down on between games!).
