Various shots of ballerina Anna Pavlova (1920s) in performance. American commentator invites us to guess who it is. People dance around her while others applaud, then she springs onto a table and dances on points. Cut to footage of playwright George Bernard Shaw walking across his garden with a walking stick. Commentator says "He's old, but he's fit!". Then we see footage of British silent film star Betty Balfour (1920s) in a fur coat, inspecting a group of men with bandy legs. Animated question mark spins around. Brief shots of Pavlova, Shaw and Balfour as commentator reveals the identity of each one.

    Intertitle: 'What Is It?'.
Several shots of Blarney Castle in Eire (Republic of Ireland, Southern Ireland). A man at the top shows two girls the famous Blarney Stone. Cut to footage of yarn being piled into a container and fed through lots of small holes in another part of machinery. Then several shots of an elaborate hat with a fish on a plate on top, plus lots of feathers and flowers. C/U of a man looking in disbelief. Animated question mark spins round. Commentator gives us the answers; shot of a girl leaning backwards to kiss the Blarney Stone. Shots of the yarn being spun into rope by a machine. M/S of a woman walking along wearing the bizarre hat in the street as people turn to look at her.

    Intertitle: 'Where Is It?'.
Shots of a row of thatched cottages. A man outside the entrance to a house shakes hands with visitors. Shot of timbered cottages. Shots of St Peter's Cathedral in Rome, Italy.
