St. David's Day ceremony at Buckingham Palace with Welsh Guards
Buckingham Palace, London.
Outside Buckingham Palace; Guards march past playing music; wearing tall black hats and long coats. Backs of people in FG turned toward marching band. Following; another group of uniformed guys with bayonet-rifles and backpacks march through the gate. CU Welsh Guard standing alone on bridge or in front of fence; wearing a leek in his hat (looks more like a spring onion but presume it is a leek!) Next; two guards present each other leeks to wear for Saint David's Day). Leeks are given out to guards. CU One guard fastens leek on other's hat. Nice shot of guard with moustache proudly standing smiling with roots of the leek hanging at the side of his face. Obviously during World War One but no reference to the war. Some emulsion damage at end of the film.
