The disaster did not occur in Cwmbran. The Marine Colliery was located in a village called Cwm which is located about 3 miles from Ebbw Vale.

The Marine colliery was indeed at Cwm not Cwmbran. I should know as my grandfather was the manager of the colliery at the time of this awful disaster.
