M. Bleriot returned to Dover 20 years after his epic cross-channel flight of 1909. This time he used a twin-engined Bleriot 127 with a pilot, navigator and mechanic. Mme Bleriot arrived separately and was there to greet him when he landed at Swingate Aerodrome. They were also met by the mayor of Dover and various aviation dignitaries and drove by car to the Bleriot memorial where there was a civic reception, and later in the afternoon the Bleriots took off for Croydon Aerodrome for an evening banquet as Guests of Honour at the Savoy on the occasion of the 7th International Aero Exhibition. The next day, Sunday, they departed in the direction of Calais where they attended a light aviation rally. On Monday July 29 M. Bleriot was again in London to deliver a lecture before the Royal Aeronautical Society RAeS. (courtesy Flight August 1, 1929)
