Various types of transport are featured - train, amphibious material, busy cross-roads etc.
C/U of lower part of the train as the pistons move backwards and forwards. C/U of wheels turning. Intertitle reads: "Feed the brute!"
High angle shot of stoker shovelling coal into the boiler. C/Us of the wheels. M/S of man applying oil to parts of the train whilst it is in motion (the train is in a shed so it doesn't actually go anywhere while it is being tested). "Over 90 miles an hour - without moving a foot!" Various shots of the train. "Now for a contrast." Man crouches down by a model railway. He sets a train off and the camera follows it as it moves around the tracks. It seems to be in his garden. High angle shot of train coming out of a tunnel and going over a bridge. South Africa - a new machine which can travel over both land and water. L/S of crowd of people watching the strange amphibious craft being moved along on wheels.
"Queer, isn't it?" reads an intertitle. C/U of the front of the craft. We can see the body of a car inside. New York - a main road goes right through a new building. Camera tilts down from the top of the building to the entrance. Sign reads: "New York Central Building". Cars pass through two tunnels in the building. Camera in a car films the car in front travelling through the tunnel and around a corner. High angle shot of an acrobatic troupe who are doing a routine on top of a very tall building. They walk around on the scaffolding. "One slip here would put you where even the Income Tax Collector couldn't reach you." The men climb out onto precarious looking sculptures at the edge of the building. Top shot of traffic way below. Speeded up footage of a busy cross-roads seen from above. C/U of traffic policeman blowing his whistle. By a camera trick (film reversal) the cars appear to all move backwards.
