    Prince Philip becomes honorary member of the Order of Water Rats. Mayfair Hotel, London.

    M/S Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, arriving at the Mayfair Hotel escorted by King Rat Arthur Scott, and applauded by ex-King Rats. The Duke shakes hands with Ben Warris, Ted Ray and Albert Whelan. M/S as he shakes hands with Wee Georgie Wood and Bud Flanagan. L/S inside the room where the ceremony is to be held. M/S Arthur placing the collar of office around the Duke's neck. L/S as guests stand and applaud. Tommy Trinder presents a cheque to the Duke for the London Federation of Boys' Clubs. M/S as the Duke takes the cheque and sits down amidst applause. C/U Ben Warris applauding. M/S Ted Ray standing up amidst applause to make speech. He says "Today is a milestone in my life your Royal Highness, because I have seen two things I never thought I would see, the first is you becoming a member of the companion of the Order of Water Rats and Tommy Trinder giving away money" (laughter). He continues with the speech then holds up a teddy bear which he is about to present to the Duke for the new baby Prince Andrew. C/U shot of the autographed book entitled "Show Business Salutes Prince Philip", from which they have raised the money.

    Various shots as Ted Ray continues with his speech, C/U Tommy Trinder listening. Ted Ray concludes "I do hope you will find time to look through its pages, it's a rotten plot but a magnificent cast (laughter). He presents the book to the Duke, and everyone applauds. C/U of Ted. M/S of the Duke making a thank you speech for the book and the money. He sits down amidst applause.
