SV. Jo at typewriter typing, she stops and picks up cigarette, leans on typewriter and starts to dream.
SV. Secretary speaking into phone: "Lord Croyston will see you for ten minutes at 3.30 next Thursday, Thank you, I'll book that. Oh Miss Foster, a table for four at the Carlton, one o'clock for Lord Croyston, please." SV. Secretary puts down phone and rings intercom. CU. Secretary with dubbed voice 'Yes'. SV. Secretary speaking into intercom "The conference at the Ministry has been put back an hour to 5.30 ... Damn! .. I told Lady Croyston that it may make you a little late, Thank you."
SV. Jo dreaming, she comes to and types slowly, voice off says 'Miss Briggs I am waiting for that letter'. Joe starts to type quickly. CU. Hands typing quickly on keyboard.
