French continue to regain territory which had been lost to the Germans earlier in the year. MS crosses on graves in ground. Various shots devastated battlefield; pieces of metal; rubble everywhere; shots of corpses - generally horrible. A few living soldiers seen walking across carrying wounded. More dead soldiers both French and German; headless corpse; rotting corpses, pieces of corpses. Trench full of dead. Soldier crosses little bridge over this trench. German soldiers crowded in back of trucks. German soldiers in action: soldiers in trench; seen from behind. Soldiers crouching in shell holes in devastated battlefield. MS soldiers running past camera. French soldiers raising barrel of huge gun; painted in camouflage. More shots of giant railway guns. Soldiers walking single file on ridge in distance. Good shots of French gun in a pit; covered with canopy that looks like sod.

CU man looking through binoculars. More explosions and guns. Shot from hill; looking downward. French soldiers walking down hill inside trench; while a group of German prisoners walk up the hill towards camera. Next; a few French soldiers join several comrades sitting up on a rocky ridge; just below the top (where they could not be seen from other side).
