The 'Ork-Oie' periscope which enables observations to be taken from undercover.: Demonstration of the trench periscope which enables soldier to look over trench without being seen or shot. The observer passes on comments via field telephone. Intertitle reads: "Where a man would be killed by bullets. The Periscope merely has its glass broken." A soldier pops his head up and gets shot (mock up). The periscope pops up above the top of the trench. A soldier removes a broken mirror.

    I believe that the railway accident featured in "Express train smash" took place on 17th June 1914.
