    Wet weather in London ruins Victory Day festivities. Cars splashing through water from full gutters. Courting couple under cape in Hyde Park, he is a sailor. Man carrying double bass in case. Rows of empty park seats in Hyde Park. A couple dance under an umbrella to sound of an accordionist.

    Various shots of formal dinner at the Dorchester Hotel for holders of the Victory Cross (V.C.s). The diners range from veterans of Boer war to servicemen from last war, officers and soldiers from all over Empire are there.

    The Royal family disembarking from the Royal barge at Westminster pier at night. L/S of portraits of the King George VI, Queen Elizabeth (Queen Mother) and Princess Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth II) formed from fireworks. Various shots of firework display over River Thames, Westminster Palace in background. Low angle shot of floodlit St Paul's Cathedral.

    Various shots of bonfires and dancing in London streets, we hear people singing "Knees up Mother Brown". Party atmosphere. Various night shots of crowds at West End and at Embankment. More shots fireworks.
