    Pacific.

    Aircraft assembled on the deck of the American aircraft carrier Franklin. Several shots of the aircraft taking off and in flight. Close up shot of Captain Gehres, Commander of the Franklin describing the hit (natural sound). Several shots of Franklin when it was bombed by Japanese plane. Huge explosions. Great efforts to quell the numerous fires. Wounded being tended. The last rites are ministered to the dying by Father O'Callaghan. Various shots of the burning ship. Sailors jumping from Franklin onto rescue craft. Franklin at sea after the fires have been put out, still upright.

    End title reads: "DON'T GIVE UP THE SHIP".
