    From 4.02 - 5.40 a Republic P-47 Thunderbolt with fuselage unit markings “UN-C”.
    “UN” was the squadron code of the 63rd Fighter Squadron of the 56th Fighter Group based in England.

    From 5.40 - 6.35 a Lockheed P-38 Lightning with number 17592 on tail but no unit marking.

    The Pilot is Lt-Col Cass Hough (1904-1990) Deputy Commander, Air Technical Section of the U.S. 8th Army Air Force, Bovingdon , Hertfordshire, England. He was the Unit Test Pilot and an innovator in Research and Development. The P47 Thunderbolt depicted was his personal aircraft. The airfield in the footage is USAAF Air Station 112 Bovingdon.
