    The slate at the start of the film tells us that it was shot by "Grant". This is W. G. "Bill" Grant, of the Canadian Film and Photo Unit.

    Rather than being shot in Anzio, as the title suggests, this looks to in fact be footage shot in Normandy in the days following the D-Day invasion.

    Yes it is in Normandy, namely in the village of Anguerny, Calvados, and troops involved are the Queen's Own Rifles of Canada, 3rd Can ID, 8th Inf Brigade, 6-9 June 1944.
