US air heroes receive medals and Australian airmen receive their wings.

On the tarmac of an American bomber aerodrome we see Major General Spaatz, Commander of US troops in Europe, decorating Flying Fortress heroes who recently carried out daylight raids in Europe. Lieutenant Sconiers receives the DSC (Distinguished Service Cross). Lieutenant Lockhart and Sergeant Rich (in wheelchair) receive the Purple Heart. Lieutenant Starks receives both the Purple Heart and DSC. C/Us of both medals.
Australian airmen march onto a parade ground and are presented with their wings (pilot's insignia) by Brigadier General Ralph Royce of the United States Army Air Force (USAAF). Nice sequence shows an Australian pilot embracing his mother, shaking hands with his father and kissing his 86-year-old granny who are present at the ceremony.
