U.S. delegate, Henry Cabot Lodge, speaking: "The General Assembly noting the disregard on many occasions by parties of the Israel Arab Armistice Agreement of 1948.. ...Knowing the traffic in the Suez Canal is interrupted to the serious prejudice of many nations...expressing its grave concern over these developments ... that all parties involved in hostilities in the area agree to an immediate Cease Fire.... to withdraw all forces behind the Armistice line."
