Summer scenes in Herne Bay, Fordwich and Canterbury.
Herne Bay, Kent - a sunny day's stroll along the promenade.
Many people walk along the front - the clock tower can be seen in the distance. Camera pans slightly - people are sitting on park benches. It looks like quite a chilly day. One man wears a mackintosh / macintosh and most people are wearing coats. L/S of the beach. People are swimming in the sea and sitting on breakwaters. A pier can be seen in the distance. A large group of people splash around in the sea.
Intertitle reads: "The old smuggler's window, where the bold bad man used to signal the "all clear" to his friends." Shot of a Herne Bay street. M/S of a shop - presumably a smuggler's house previously. "Then a trip to sleepy Fordwich." Panning shot of picturesque scene. Travelling shots of the river from on board a boat. M/S of a witches ducking chair. A woman sits in it and is suspended out over the river. Canterbury Cathedral is seen over the rooftops of houses in the city. M/S of the city arch - a bus drives towards the camera. M/S of the river passing by the Weavers (I think that is what this building is called.) End title reads: "And all in 2 minutes folks."
