British boxer Randolph Turpin meets Italian Tiberio Mitri who knocks him down.
SV British boxer Randolph Turpin in dark trunks, stalking his opponent around the ring. They both lead and land with lefts, disengage and carry on sizing each other up, when Italian Tiberio Mitri lands with a left to the side of Turpin's head. Turpin stops in his tracks and Mitri pushes him down with a left in much the same place. Turpin falls heavily banging his head on the canvas. Lays flat on his back until he struggles to rise with the referee counting over him. On his feet, but staggers back helplessly, and falls back against the ropes. The referee stepping between he and Mitri who had dashed across to finish Turpin off. Referee pushes Turpin to the corner and at the same time holds off Mitri. Turpin protests as referee pushes him to his corner. Referee has fierce arguments with someone in Turpin's corner, and throws down hands. People start climbing into the ring and proceed to mob Mitri. Referee resumes arguments with Turpin's corner.
