GV. Boxing fight between ex-world champion Randolph Turpin and Bermudan cruiserweight champion "Polly" Smith in progress. Turpin with broad white stripe down his pants. SCU. Exchange of blows. Turpin lands a left on Smith's jaw, and Smith returns a left to Turpin's head, but does not do any damage. SV. Smith wades into Turpin and forces his back to the ropes. Turpin fights his way off the ropes in a tight clinch. CU. People watching. SCU. Smith attacks with a left to Turpin's jaw but it goes wide, he follows with a right to Turpin's jaw but this also misses. He swings another left which doesn't connect and follows this with a right to the head but Turpin ducks and it goes wide. Turpin brings in a left which connects with Smith. They go into a clinch. SV. Boxers still in clinch. They break. The bell sounds and they return to their corners. CU. Smith in corner with his seconds. CU. Turpin in his corner with his seconds. CU. Bell ringing for start of round. SCU. Smith lands a left, but Turpin leans back and does no damage. Smith is now slamming wildly at Turpin who manages to keep out of trouble. SV. Turpin and Smith in a clinch. Turpin breaks away with a left uppercut, and then forces Smith to the ropes with a terrific pounding. Smith is on the ropes and Turpin really slams into him. CU. Smith against ropes and Turpin lands a right to the body followed by a right to the jaw, and a left hook to the jaw, followed by right. Smith goes into a clinch and forces himself away from the ropes. SCU. Turpin wading into Smith. SCU. Seconds watching. SCU. Smith tries a right uppercut which misses and Turpin slams home a left to the jaw. Fight over - Turpin embraces Smith. Referee holds Turpin's hand up. Turpin beats Smith on points.
