  • Short Summary

Various shots of a Hornets' nest - very badly decomposed.

  • Description

Sub title reads: "A Camera Visit to a Hornet's Nest."

Most - if not all - of this film unusable due to nitrate decomposition.

"Hornets never took any medals for hospitality - even to cameramen. But, this particular colony seemed to be looking for publicity!" M/Ss of a hornet's nest hanging up just outside a house window.

"The cameraman got good results in making this picture - twenty-eight separate and distinct stings and these remarkable *****" (rest of intertitle obscured by timecode). C/U of the nest.

C/U showing the claw of a hornet. Shots of a clay model of a hornet's nest being made (bad decomposition). Hornets' nest is seen from inside the house - as it was built against a window pane we can see a cross section of the nest. C/U of bottom of nest with hornets crawling over it. C/U of cross section of the nest - can see Hornets moving around.

This is one of the NFTVA prints made from our decomposing nitrate.
