  • Description

Several lengthy intertitles set the scene for an aria from Puccini's opera 'Tosca'. Main title reads: '"Mario" - Tom Burke - the world famous Operatic Tenor'.

    London (probably Pathe Studio).

Various shots of Tom Burke as Mario, singing an aria from Act III of 'Tosca'. He is in a prison cell and the jailer brings his death warrant. Mario signs the register then sits down and reflects, finally asking permission to write a letter to his lover, offering a ring as a bribe. Mario writes, and, becoming engrossed in memories of the past he sings of his deep despair. At the end of the aria, he sits down and rests his head on his hand.

    (Followed by Pathetone end titles.)
