    Benghazi, Libya.

    General view of Benghazi. Various shots of the 8th Army Bren gun carriers and light tanks entering and moving through the town. Local boys give the v-for-victory sign. The British flag is raised and the German Nazi swastika flag is used as a door mat.

    L/S of the harbour shows the wreckage of Axis shipping littering the scene. More troops move past the main hospital which our bombers carefully avoided hitting. Shots of our target, the wrecked Benghazi Power Station. Lieutenant General Bernard Montgomery climbs into a car and eats a boiled egg in the back seat before making his tour of inspection. More shots of troops moving through Benghazi. Some soldiers pose with their tank; it has a caricature of Churchill as a bulldog on the side.

    Landing craft approach the beaches on the Libyan coast. Supplies, including barrels of water, are unloaded. M/S of sailors doing some bargaining with the locals.

    Aerial view over a desert airfield showing German and Italian planes that have been damaged by Allied raids. M/S of RAF flag being raised at an airfield. Various shots of RAF mechanics getting to work on the captured aircraft to make them air worthy again. The German markings are painted over with RAF markings. Airmen place a sign reading 'Under Entirely New Management' beside a plane being repainted. A Squadron Leader gets out of a captured German car and climbs into one of the reconditioned planes. He takes off in the Stuka and flies it back towards Allied lines.
