    Excellent High angle shot of Denmark Street. C/Us of several shop signs including, "SUN MUSIC PUBLISHING LTD", "20th CENTURY MUSIC", "CAMPBELL CONNELLY CO LTD" and "SOUTHERN HOUSE". The commentator says "It's London's Tin Pan Alley - birthplace of melodies which have kept Britain singing in good times and bad." L/S and M/S of Johnny Johnson (leader of the Keynotes) chatting to songwriter Tommy Connor. M/Ss of the songwriter Dick Royal and the Beverly Sisters on the same street. Also, good shots of Jimmy Campbell and Eddie Standing, and Dave Toff with Pat Halpin. Lawrence Wright (alias Horatio Nichols) with Harry Hall sifting through old programs in office.

    Pat Kirkwood enters the room smiling. She shakes hands with with Lawrence and Harry and sits down. C/Us of of all three chatting. Harry Hall and Pat Kirkwood walk past singer Carol Lynne. C/U of sign reading, "LEEDS MUSIC LTD". M/S of Anne Shelton, Troise, Billy Ternent, and Lew Stone listening to the five Five Smith Brothers in studio. They sing 'Harbour Lights'. M/S of Bill Phillips talking in office with the band leader 'Joe Loss'. Several more excellent shots of famous singers and musician practising in studios including, band leader Mantovani, Norman Stanfelt and Vera Lynn with Les Paul.

    C/U of sign, "THE PETER MAURICE MUSIC COMPANY LTD". M/Ss of Felix Mendelssohn talking with 'Stage Coach' Eric Winstone at piano. Also rehearsing are Petula Clark with Joe Henderson at the piano. M/S of Jimmy Phillips with Peter Maurice listening to Ray Hartley (on piano) and Sam Brownie singing the latest musical number by Jimmy Kennedy.

    C/U of Phillips on the intercom to secretary asking to send the "others" up to hear the new piece of music which he is clearly impressed with. Several more shots of Hartley and Brownie singing 'Last Night's Kisses'. Entering and the room and watching the rehearsal are numerous stars including Geraldo, Billy Cotton, Doreen Stephens, Jill Allen Vicki Autier, Terry the Irish Minstrel and Benny Lee. Phillips comments "Lovely song Jimmy" at the end of the performance. Good M/Ss of several arrangers at work in office. C/U of hand writing down musical notes. M/S of man at piano playing piano whilst smoking cigarette.
