    01:13:28 View of English coastline. Castle on hill top. British troops walking through trench. Several of the men are carrying mills bombs (early grenades). The trenches are to defend the British coast. Troops bring forward horse drawn artillery and field guns. Soldier speaks into field telephone. More shots of horse artillery (members of what was to become the British Expeditionary Force BEF).

    01:14:27 Recruiting events in London. Men recruited near the Lions in Trafalgar Square. Recruits march into building. Volunteers sitting and waiting before going in to office. Men in civvies march. High angle shot of The Criterion Grill Room. People lining up outside the Criterion theatre entrance. Crowds of people trying to get on an overcrowded bus.

    01:15:19 London buses being used as troop transport for the BEF in France. Troops disembarking from buses. Troops coming down gangplank from troopship. Troops (possibly from Irish or Scottish regiment) marching through France.

    01:15:43 General Joffre with officers inspect troops.

    01:15:48 Black African troops serving with the French army lead large oxen across pontoon bridge. They are pulling field artillery. Other troops lead oxen into field.
