    M/S of a lady dressed in a long white flowing costume and head-dress, she smiles. Another wears a big skirt and hat with feathers on. Two girls pose, one carrying a basket of apples and wearing a laced up bodice, and the other in a wig carrying a fan.

    Intertitle - 'These pictures mark a new departure and a great advancement in News illustration. The Pathe Gazettes is the only news film owning its own Portable Lighting Set, costing several thousand pounds. This enables us to portray events hitherto impossible.'

    M/S of the ball in the Albert Hall where couples dance in their costumes. M/S of a big model of a caterpillar with people round it. Guests play with balloons, M/S of big model of a dragon.

    Intertitle - 'Mr Augustus John - the master mind of the Ball - with Frank Moran the well known boxer.'

    M/S of the two play fighting, one dressed as a sheikh and the other in Elizabethan costume. They talk, laugh and point to the camera.

    Note: the indoor shots of the ball using the portable lighting set illuminate what is going on in the middle of the shot but are dark round the outside.
