Full titles read: "The WORLD'S GREATEST RACE - The Race for Grand National - first run in 1837 - is 4 miles 836 yards over " [this flash frame title has been held out of rack by Arion and will be completed on this record when the tape is returned with the title transferred correctly.]

    Aintree, Liverpool.

Various shots show horses being led around an enclosure in their coats before the start of the Grand National of 1928. Several shots of the horses running around the course and taking jumps.

Intertitle reads: "Our unique 'stop-slow-motion camera' shows you how they jumped over Bechers Brook."
L/S shows horses taking the jump in slow-motion; there are several 'stops' in the action, to freeze-frame the action; two horses fall. In normal time we see L/S of the horses approaching another jump, the Canal Turn; a whole group of the horses refuse to jump the fence; their jockeys turn around and try again, some turning again for a third try. More footage of the race; a jockey and horse fall after a jump; people rush onto the course to help him back on.

Several shots show the winner after the race; riding through a sea of people. The jockey is patted on the back while the steaming horse is calmed down.
