Various antics employed to demonstrate unbreakable clocks.
Man sits at a desk which is on the roadside. Clocks are lined up on the desk. He knocks some off onto the road with a sweep of his hand. Those which are left he picks up one by one and tosses onto the road - smiling as he does so.
The same man sits in front of a front door and examines two pieces of a clock. He drops them both on the ground showing how one breaks and the other stays intact. C/U of him showing the camera the broken one and shaking his head. He shows the unbreakable version to the camera - intact. Holds it to his ear - presumably still ticking - and smiles broadly at the camera.
Intertitle reads: "You can, if you wish, even throw them out of the window and they still smile unbrokenly!" A group of people (including a milkman?) gather around on the pavement looking up to a window above a "Grill Cafe". High angle looking down on to the pavement - man in a dark suit walks along, picks up a clock from the ground. Holds it to his ear then looks up at the camera smiling and nodding.
Was probably a Pathe Pictorial item.
