    Several shots of the men of the Adelaide University expedition setting out in trucks from Alice Springs. M/Ss of a camel train walking along a dusty track and a boy on one of the camels. Brief shot of the expedition men pushing the truck over bumpy ground to start it up after breaking down.

    At Cockatoo Creek we see various shots of the university men measuring and testing a local tribe of Aborigines. They measure their heads, examine their skin colouring, take hand prints and test their counting and drawing ability. C/U of the hand of an Aboriginal man duplicating a footprint track in the sand. The expedition men make a record of an Aboriginal singing a traditional tune, then play it back to the tribe. M/S of a group of Aborigines banging sticks on the ground and singing.

    Intertitle reads: "And here we leave them until next week - ".
