    M/S of a man in flying helmet and a parachute pack on his back. A group of official looking men examine the pack and talk to the man. M/S of man with parachute getting into the cockpit of aeroplane, he sits behind the pilot. We see the man perching on cockpit, a rope from the parachute pack is attached to the plane. He shakes hands with the officials and pulls down his flying goggles. L/S of parachute descending to Earth.

    An alternative version of story starts at 01:11:03. Appears identical to first.

    Cuts / out takes start at 01:12:30. More shots of aeroplane in flight. More shots of parachutists and officials walking across airfield from hangar. Various shots of aeroplane taking off. Mostly shots are same as those in edited part of item.

    The demonstration pictured here took place on 4 December 1926.

    "M/S of a man in flying helmet and a parachute" - the man is Lieutenant Prospero Freri.

    "getting into the cockpit of aeroplane" - the aircraft is a de Havilland DH-9J, Reg. No. G-EBLH.
