Sailors salute as the party proceed up the gangplank. The crowds wave enthusiastically on the shore as the ship moves off slowly. A boy is seen jumping up and down in front of the camera. Crowds are seen waving, some wave their hats. M/S panning along a line of sailors. Two biplanes fly overhead. The couple are seen on the deck. The Duchess waves. The ship is seen moving out to sea from Portsmouth Harbour.
At a train station, a car has drawn up, and the Duke gets out. There are various officials and dignitaries gathered for the Royal send off. The Duke and Duchess greet various people, shaking hands. The Duchess looks very elegant in her outfit and quite relaxed. She kisses a woman farewell, and Queen Mary is seen getting out of the train carriage after a final parting.
