    A flight of biplanes from the Irish Free State fly in the formation of a cross as below them sails the boat carrying the Papal Legate.

    Cardinal Lauri - wearing his regalia as a representative of the Pope - walks down the gangplank on to the dock.

    Walking with Irish President Eamon De Valera and other ministers (both religious and political), the Legate inspects troops of the Irish Army - he blesses them with the sign of the cross as he proceeds.

    The Cardinal inspects cavalry troops from the Irish Free State Hussars before he climbs into his car for the trip to Dublin.

    The Legate's car, led by the horsemen, travels down crowd lined streets.

    The Legate and others process into the Pro-Cathedral.
