  • Short Summary

Great comedy dance routine performed by Solly Ward and Ethelind Terry.

  • Description

    No title.

Dance routine by Solly Ward and Ethelind Terry involving throws and lifts. Flowery intertitle reads: "Exquisite grace! An enchanted garden! Fairy feet among falling petals!" Two men appear dressed in strange outfits incorporating sock suspenders. His outfit is a "strongman's" leotard - "she" wears a Grecian style tunic (it's actually a man in drag). They begin to perform a comedy dance routine involving a fall to the ground. They interpret "The Birthday of a Goldfish" with a turn that makes the woman dizzy. He falls over and she "accidentally" pulls off his shorts! Intertitle reads: "Just bubbling with "IT". The woman poses and the man tickles her ribs. Awkward looking throwing around ensues. She climbs on to his shoulders, putting her foot in his face. C/U of him struggling while she stomps on his face. She hangs on to something and poses as if standing on one leg on his shoulder. He falls over and she is left dangling. She then falls on the floor and runs after him holding her head.

It is a pretty funny routine.

    Was American Pathe Review 22-27.

Note: The Music Box Revue appeared on the London stage in 1923, but numbering suggests this appeared in the American Pathe Review in 1922. Perhaps this act war performed in the States before London?
