    A man sharpens his scythe while a young girl watches. Two men cut down the reeds that grow beside the river and tie them into bundles.

    Intertitle: "Protection against the floods whilst growing, they are used for thatching - and for musical instruments - when harvested."

    Men pile the bundles of reeds onto a boat. Men and girls pull the boat along. Nice shots of girls handling a sailing boat on the river.
