    Opening sequence shows ranks of soldiers wearing kilts and Scottish uniform, marching in front of a procession of floats. They are watched by crowds lining the route. Floats depict various examples of Canadian history - pilgrims on a flat bottomed boat with Red Indians, oxen pulling carts, soldiers, Red Indians, a railway car pulled by a horse. Finally a float looking like a log cabin fort with frontiersmen on board.

    Note: VHS Sleeve title indicates 'The maple for ever'
