    VS. of King George VI inspecting and decorating men of the Dover patrol on the quay at Dover in a driving wind and slight snow falling.

    VS. of ferry docking and troops of the BEF (British Expeditionary Force) coming ashore on leave from France, the King watches from the dockside, still snowing. A soldier on the ship raises a captured German helmet on his rifle. Shots of troops coming ashore.

    VS. of the men passing through the barriers having their papers examined, the King joins in and examines some of the papers. Troops look very happy to be home.
