    Novels are recorded onto gramophone records for the Talking Book Library for the blind.

    M/S of small stone building in middle of park. Various shots of man working inside the building. He is a recording engineer and he is making a wax disc which becomes a gramophone record. Various shots of another man in a recording studio. The man, Joseph MacLoud, reads aloud from novel, "Old Goriot" by Honore Balzac.

    M/S of blind woman sitting in her living room listening to the record, a dog sits in her lap.

    The records are made for National Institute for the Blind, in co-operation with St. Dunstans.
