Title frame: The Hastings Pastoral in Aid of Dr. Barnardo's Homes. Thomas John Barnardo; 1845-1905; founded homes for orphaned and destitute children in England. Shot of various people seated outdoors:- looks like a lot of elderly men; and a woman in front in long skirt & jacket; with a military looking hat; also some guys in robes and funny ancient hats. At start; a nurse is leading a tiny girl out to give a bouquet to the woman in suit. A man stands; speaks. Group of young girls dance sideways in rows with arms outstretched. They are all dressed in the same short tunics and jumpers with leaves (?!) stuck on them; as if they are woodland spirits or something; also headbands. They stop and stand in 2 rows; swinging their arms and singing. Pan over quite a large crowd seated in park -- many ladies.
